The Foster Avatar was created from interviews and workshops with foster alumni. Current privacy laws keep foster youth and families from sharing photos and videos of the children which often leads to them feeling invisible and disempowered. Global Peace Train, in partnership with Fostering Great Ideas, is developing an augmented reality tool that will be used for foster youth to tell their stories anonymously, help them feel less invisible, and contribute to bettering the current foster care system.
